responsibilities

As a business development manager, you will acquire new commercial, industrial and institutional accounts by developing relationships with owners, facility manager and management companies.

You will:

  • sell preventative maintenance agreements and energy solutions

  • develop sales leads, qualify prospects and make sales calls.

  • negotiate, estimate, bid, propose and close contracts at qualified margins.

  • balance your time between prospecting and networking, managing the relationship with current clients, and delivering sales presentations

    required knowledge, skills, abilities

You’ll need:

  • demonstrated success in developing and closing new business opportunities

  • exceptional hunting and closing skills

  • ability to overcome resistance and be able to work independently

  • strong communication, planning, and presentation skills. Comfortable selling to both C-level and technical buyers.

  • to be hard-working and a self-starter

  • five (5) years sales experience and trainable

  • Not necessary but helpful - HVAC/Energy experience within manufacturing, healthcare, or education

  • a tremendous desire to increase earnings within 2 years on a base plus commission plan.

    required qualifications

You’ll need:

  • Proven record of sales proficiency in developing and closing new business opportunities.

  • A 2 or 4 year degree in business, engineering, or a similar field or comparable sales experience in the building service industry, or building energy solutions

  • Solid computer skills in Word, Excel, estimating, CRM database programs.
