Title: Medical Records Technician
Shift: Days, Full Time
This position will be scheduled 40 hours per week in the Medical Records department at the Central Business Office located at 237William Howard Taft, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.
Job Overview: The Medical Record Technician – Analyst position examines medical records for completeness after patient discharge and assigns deficiencies in the Chart Deficiency System.
The Medical Records Technician may perform the following duties:
Analyzes medical records utilizing information systems
Analyzes medical records for completeness.
Examines medical records to verify correct patient information.
Enters chart deficiencies into computer system.
Reviews requests for information from other hospitals, physician offices, nursing units, etc. for appropriateness.
Requests medical information from other hospital departments.
Copies and/or faxes medical information for patient care to authorized requestors.
Documents productivity statistics for each function performed and performs duties according to departmental productivity standards.
Provide effective customer service
Communicate and interrelate positively and effectively with all customers: i.e. patients, residents, volunteers, families, visitors, physicians, and other hospital employees.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience in Medical Records preferred.
