The Christ Hospital Health Network Epic Education Coordinator in CINCINNATI, Ohio

Job Overview: As key member of the Information Technology (IT) team, involved in all aspects of providing Epic training, coordination and operational delivery of the healthcare information technology for The Christ Hospital Health Network (TCHHN). The individual must be able to work collaboratively to building educational materials and approaches to support changes within Epic.

This position may perform the following job duties: Develop and Delivers Epic Training

  • ? Conducts general overviews of the system in front of various levels of the organization

  • ? Provides general Epic training to incoming clinicians and department educators

  • ? Responsible for generalist curriculum content (script)

  • ? Coordinates appropriate level of training for each user/ super user

  • ? Performs training for specific area (s) in conjunction with other department superusers and educators

  • ? Assists with scenario based training.

  • ? Ensures education deliverables are approved by the appropriate Users, who will sign off on any education deliverables for your area(s) of responsibility

  • ? Works closely with Team lead in designated area(s)

  • ? Develops training plan for designated area(s) in conjunction with other department educators

  • ? Conducts end user and super user training

  • ? Assists departments with resolving training issues

  • ? Coordinates training documentation for Epic modules

  • ? Develops and maintains content in the Epic training environments.

  • ? Coordinates with the Enterprise Technical team on training environment updates.

Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement

  • ? Maintains effective levels of communication between the organizational departments and IT for Epic training.

  • ? Demonstrates a professional attitude and ability to relate well with executive management, physicians, other care providers, patients, and others in the hospital community.

  • ? Proactively identifies improvement opportunities and implements solutions required to improve IT education.

  • ? Monitors customer satisfaction for Epic training.

  • ? Identifies opportunities for improved training delivery.

? Performs other duties as necessary or assigned by the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT Senior Management.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, information systems, or related discipline.

License & Certification:

Epic Training Certification preferred, or willing to obtain within one year.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of clinical and ancillary functions including, but not limited to Results, Orders, Clinical Documentation, Barcoding and Med Charting, E-mar and Pharmacy, Scheduling, ADT, EMPI, Registration, HIM, Billing / Collections, Cardiology, Lab, Radiology, PACS, ICU, Oncology, and Surgery. Epic experience required.

  • Experienced in developing and conducting clinical user training on healthcare technology

  • Experience training all levels of users, including physicians

  • Appropriate certification in Epic applications (Clin Doc, Orders)or willingness to obtain certification within a recommended timeframe.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to present in front of large groups

  • Comfortable interacting with various levels of leadership

  • Healthcare experience with is required

  • Knowledge of basic workstation functionality

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic workstation issues
